👾 New Feature: Discord Notifications
Discord is a popular communication platform primarily used by gamers, but it has also been adopted by various communities, including developers, artists, and hobbyists. It enables users to create or join servers, which are like virtual chat rooms, where they can text, voice chat, and video chat with other members. Discord provides an excellent environment for collaboration, socializing, and organizing events, with features like customizable roles, voice channels, and the ability to share files and screens. Discord’s ease of use, stability, and the ability to join servers for free has made it a popular alternative to other communication tools. It also supports integration with other apps and services, such as Twitch and Spotify, making it an all-in-one platform for content creators and community management.
Today we’ve added support for sending conditional notifications from Google Sheets to Discord. This works in a very similar to the other notification targets that we support such as Slack by using webhooks. Discord have a guide on how to set up the webhook, once you have done that simply copy the URL they generate into Check Sheet as shown below.
As with all other notifications types if you want to send a notification to multiple Discord channels simply add each webhook on a separate line.
By default the message will be formatted as shown in the screenshot below:
If you are subscribed to our premium plan you can completely customise the content of the message and apply formatting using markdown.
We’re constantly reviewing what other services we should support sending notifications to, if you have one you’d like to see us support please contact us via email or twitter.
